Swastika Ancient Roman Bronze Fibulae Brooch Aged with Oxidized Patina Museum Reproduction ABZ0008

28,00

Fibula, brooch, or pin, originally used in Greek and Roman dress for fastening garments. The fibula developed in a variety of shapes, but all were based on the safety-pin principle.
The Romans began to assimilate Celtic soldiers into their legions in the eastern provinces of Dalmatia and Pannonia beginning in the 1st-2nd century AD. Such Celtic tribes brought their own ancient symbols and artistry, not only in military items, but brooches, as well. One of their good luck symbols was the swastika. In ancient Sanskrit, the swastika equated to “well-being”, or a symbol of Good Luck.
