Тhis bronze figurine depicts a woman in typical clothing, wearing a chiton and mantle wrapped around the upper body. She is dressed in a Roman garment that falls just below her ankle. She has her hair sculpted away from her face, her eyes are fixed on a point ahead of her in a look that demonstrates the she is a figure of power. Her distinctive hairstyle allows scholars to date the original statue to the period from about A.D. 120 to 130. Women throughout the Empire adopted this style with the hair pulled back from the face and the long hair wrapped in braids around the back of the head in imitation of the women of the Imperial family.
