Struck shortly before or shortly after the battle of Philippi. This issue, bearing an SC, required special Senatorial Consent, and was probably used to pay bonuses to the troops under Octavian’s command.
This issue was hand struck in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (ancient Roman province Philippopolis). It goes without saying you always get the exact item in the picture.
